Yesterday, we looked at a passage in James that told us to ask the Lord for wisdom in everything. Take out your paper that you filled in from your Bible study time this week. You were asked a lot of questions about where your heart is with the Lord. Take a moment and look through the questions and answers you gave.
What do your answers on that page tell you about where you are at with the Lord right now?
Do you want a life that reflects Jesus and influences others to be closer to Him? Think about this for a moment and come up with an honest answer.
If you are struggling to know if you want to be closer to Him, reflect again on the words of James one from yesterday. Spend some time now talking to God and asking His wisdom to answer your deepest questions.
If you do want to be closer to Him then look at your paper again:
- What is one thing you can change in your actions to let others know you truly follow Jesus?
- What is one thing you can stand up for you haven’t in the past?
- What is one thing you can change in your every day choices that will help you be closer to the Lord?
The reality is it’s easy to be someone who “loves” Jesus but acts like people who don’t care one way or the other. We have a choice to make. If we want to be close to Jesus will we let Him change our hearts, so our actions will reflect this? Will we serve without caring if anyone except God notices? Our actions influence others most when it comes from a heart that means it.
